Fredrik Saroea

Less than a year ago we worked with the band Datarock and their management, Artist.Vision, managing the digital advertising campaigns for their most recent album, “Media Consumption Pyramid” (you can check out this collaboration here)

And now, their restless leader, Fredrik Saroea, as well as his management, have counted on us again to help them with the release of their new solo album, “Lucid Dream”.

For los amigos digitales it is a pleasure to be able to collaborate with them again managing the worldwide digital advertising campaigns for this album.

“Lucid Dream” was released last Friday, September 25th, and although you may have already seen some ads on Meta or YouTube, just in case we tell you something more about the album here.

First single lifted off Fredrik Saroea’s 3rd solo album was “Hotel Chelsea”, and featured Norway’s national contemporary art music ensemble BIT20. It is a surprisingly classic singer-songwriter offering paying tribute to an old landmark he and his bandmates got to enjoy in the last days if it’s original incarnation back in NYC’s version of the «indie sleaze» naughties…

Next one up (“The World’s a Rave (and Life’s Just a Dance)”) featured Kings of Convenience’ Eirik Glambek Bøe. This one showcases an entirely new side to Saroea’s songwriting, yet based on a very old demo.

The new lyrics, on the other hand, are inspired part by a scene in Moebius’ “Upon a Star” when the Steel character revisit himself as a child in order to repair a Waymaster, part by Norwegian painter Munch’s “The Dance of Life”, and part by a personal meeting with the actor Donald O’Brien in Rome back in ’96.

3rd single was the lead track of the album “Lucid Dream” – an 11 minute long instrumental bossanova suit featuring BIT20’s harp, cello, viola and violin in addition to Saroea on acoustic guitar.

The album even features field recordings (on “Lucie’s Dream”)

It’s really different to his previous live album featuring the same group of musicians; the 2022 album “Rona Diaries: The Chamber Versions Love at the Grieg Hall, Bergen”.

Back on the team, however, in this album we find again the two times Grammy winning mixer Mark Rankin (Adele, Block Party), UK mastering legend Mike Marsh (Björk, Oasis) and the illustrator MVM providing the artwork.
